Super Typhoon Maysak

Super Typhoon Maysak is currently about a 1000 miles off the coast of the Philippines. The Pacific typhoon season is actually considered to be possible all year round although the North West area which effects the Philippines is considered to be most active May-Oct. Typhoons that are present in the Pacific during Jan-May and Oct-Dec normally fail to hit with full force into the Philippines. Maysak is considered unusual in that its very early for a Super Typhoon but also that will still make landfall before dissipating. It should be noted that its due to hit land on Saturday but by which time it will most likely of been downgraded to a tropical storm.

Typhoons seen this early and with this intensity are usually associated with an ‘El Nino’ effect. This might be a sign of whats to come this year though.
